Prior-Prior Year (PPY) Early FAFSA.
On September 13, 2015, President Obama signed an executive order that will allow families to complete the 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using income information from the 2016 federal tax return. As a result, the 2018-19 FAFSA may be filed as early as October 1, 2017. This new feature will allow you and your parents to report final, accurate income information on the FAFSA for the 2018-19 academic year.
Federal Aid Only Students who are not interested in applying for need-based Barnard College Grant aid, but would like to take advantage of U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid, including Federal Direct Stafford loans and the Federal Pell Grant, are not required to complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE or the Noncustodial Profile.
All New York State (NYS) residents who receive Barnard grant aid must also apply for NYS TAP. We will estimate the TAP award in your financial aid package and include it as part of total grant funds available. If an aid recipient neglects to apply for TAP, we reserve the right to bill her for the total amount of her estimated award.
